Slate is unaffected by normal extremes of temperature and is highly resistant to acids, alkalis and other chemicals. It retains its color as it fades gracefully, even in UV light, and is impermeable to water. Slate is absolutely fire proof and non combustible. Slate is impervious to fungus and mold.
Slate is easily maintained and has low net energy making it an economical choice for all building purposes.
